History has already been made by Lamborghini, but re-writing history in anticipation of greater victories continues at one of motorsports’ most prestigious events – 24 Hours at Daytona. With the Huracán GT3 and Huracán GT3 EVO, Lamborghini has finished on the podium at the 24 Hours of Daytona every year since 2018, and outright won in the hotly contested GTD class from 2018 – 2020.
The storied and gruelling 24 Hours at Daytona kicks off the 2022 IMSA racing season. The green flags for the race will be waved at 1:40pm on Saturday, January 29th. 60 cars will be partaking this year, the largest starting field since 2014. Of the 60 cars, 35 will be competing in GTD class alongside the Huracán GT3 EVO entries.

In 1971, the world was awestruck by Automobili Lamborghini’s stunning Countach LP 500. The overwhelming praise received from the automotive world convinced Ferruccio Lamborghini and his company to put the car into production. After three years of development, the first Countach LP400 was sold. During development, the original LP 500 prototype was sacrificed in crash testing, never to be seen again in a cohesive operating state – until now.
As of this year, the Countach LP 500 makes a glorious return to reality, a fitting and emotional way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its original debut.
